Are you daydreaming of snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving, sea kayaking or kitesurfing in the warm waters of the Caribbean or of relaxing under the palm trees on a snow-white beach whilst sipping on a cocktail? Great news, VetPD has combined an amazing all-inclusive week-long watersports experience at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with a total of 25 hours of cutting-edge lectures / case discussions and 15 hours of practical sessions on live horses.
Attendees will arrive on Sunday and from Monday - Thursday the lectures and wetlabs will be held from 8:45 AM - 3:00 PM, followed by watersports activities and beach relaxation. The evenings will be free for leisurely wining and dining, to meet up with old friends and to make new ones.
On Friday there won’t be any lectures or practical sessions, which will allow attendees and their partners/guests to further pursue watersports activities, relax at the beach or to explore this beautiful region. The course will finish on Saturday, but attendees can of course extend their stay at the Majestic Colonial at the group-rate at their own expense.
The course program has been assembled for vets with experience who want to update their knowledge and practical skills in a fun and relaxed environment with likeminded colleagues. Every day attendees can choose from two streams of lectures / wetlabs (in English) on a wide range of current orthopedic, imaging, surgical, medical or soft tissue topics (see www.vetpd.com for full course details). Open and frank discussions are encouraged and the speakers will share their personal experiences with attendees, be it successes or failures. There will also be plenty of opportunities to discuss diagnostic/therapeutic strategies and cases with the speakers.
The 15 hours of practical sessions will give attendees plenty of opportunity to put theory into practice on live horses in true small groups (2-4 vets per ultrasound machine), all under the supervision of the specialists. Attendees can choose to attend the following practical stations on a first-come-first-served basis as there are limited spaces: Musculoskeletal Ultrasound; Abdominal Ultrasound; Thoracic Ultrasound; Ocular Ultrasound; Head & Neck soft tissue ultrasound; Urogenital Endoscopy; Upper Respiratory Endoscopy; BAL & Tracheal Wash Techniques; Sinoscopy - Approaches & Exploration.
The Winner may choose to bring a guest at their own expense. Special guest pricing available.
